STOP THE CHEMOURS PLANT EXPANSION AND PROTECT US FROM PFAS

Since the 1970s, Chemours (and before that, DuPont) has been spewing toxic PFAS into the air and water of a half-million people in Southeastern NC. Despite this legacy of harm, Chemours recently applied to NCDEQ (Department of Environmental Quality) for an air permit to dramatically expand its Fayetteville chemical production operations and increase its PFAS production and waste -- increasing the risk of more North Carolinians being poisoned by Chemours' toxic waste. This expansion would affect 10 counties, with a total population of over 1 million.

Local governments across Southeastern NC (Wilmington, New Hanover County, Cumberland County, Leland, Brunswick County, Sandyfield, and Cape Fear Public Utility Authority) have passed resolutions urging NC DEQ to deny Chemours' expansion permit to protect our air and water.
